Tonight at work I met a couple who have 8 children: 4 biological and 4 adopted. All 4 adopted children are siblings who have a life-long debilitating medical condition. This mother homeschools her kids and somehow finds the time to run a nonprofit organization that specializes in social justice for children.
How?
I mean, how does she do it all?
I never even got around to asking her husband what his job was because I was stopped dead in my tracks by this amazing woman. This super woman.
As I left the hospital tonight it kept running through my mind. What must their life look like in the day to day? How impossible it all seemed from the outside looking in, but somehow, remarkably, it is in fact…. possible.
They openly shared their Christian faith.
Of course.
God is all about making the impossible possible. In fact, it’s what He specializes in.
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26
That family left me wondering, “How much bigger would God like my life to be?” Where am I limiting Him? Because surely, when He is in charge, there is room for so much more.
For us, it may seem like “too much”, but for a mighty God who sets the stars in place, spins the earth on its axis, and calms the waves of the sea… it is not.
No, just a woman with a super, awesome God.
